Well, one's own barf is another story. Hopefully you are big enough to get it into some sort of receptacle. Kids are not so good at foreseeing what is coming.

Yeah, husbands who deal with barf and clean toilets are a special breed. You have my sympathy, Jared. That's nasty stuff especially in the middle of the night. Like all parents, I have a few similar but not as bad stories. Here's one: The night before I started working at the Reporter (first job for someone else in 7 years) Sam hovered over my bed at 3 a.m. saying, "I don't feel good." He made it to the hallway when it began. It was a bad, bad mess that involved much cleaning, comforting and laundering. Suffice to say showing up a few hours later for training as an editorial assistant was not my ideal scenario. Such is life!

Dan - I did end up putting them in the tub (and sink) and then rinsing them off while pulling them out of the water. It still takes a long time because it's a lot of legos, and they have all these little holes that stuff can get in.

The Lost blog is coming, but it might not be ready before tonight, so I'm going to post on that theory/prediction I talked to you about last night regarding tonight's episode, just so that it's on the record before the episode airs.

You could put them in one of those net-handwash-things and run them through the dishwasher. I'm sure it's too late for that now. And hopefully there will never be another opportunity to test it out.

I'll pitch in for new ones.

been there done that, as parents you become veterans of this stuff, but you guys have had more than your share as a family.

story: one time chris came running to me, when he was 4, saying his stomach hurt, right after I showered put on clean clothes and as he embraced me he hurled on the front of my shirt. funny to me now.
