To give myself a goal for getting in shape (as well as to raise money for a good cause), I’m preparing / training for a triathlon in September.
Before you laugh too hard, it is only a “sprint triathlon”, which is a half mile swim, 12.4 mi. bike ride, and 3.1 mi. run, so hopefully I won’t be killing myself.
I think it will still be a challenge to get ready in time, but I think I can do it. I’m just posting about it on here to give myself some accountability to not let myself back out.
wow, are you prepared at all? what’s your normal workout level?
Not really, but I think I can get to the point where I can at least finish / survive it. I’m not too worried about the swimming and biking parts; I think the running will be the hardest part, plus doing it all together. We’ll see…
Sara said she wants to do it too. I might but I don’t know when it’s going to be and I doubt I’ll train for it since I’m committing myself to practicing golf for the county championship labor day weekend right after I get this damn windows machine to work.

it sounds like a fun challenge to train for, but i haven’t ever done anything like that before so it seems like something too advanced for me. the run alone sounds like a killer!
