I saw the best and worst IMAX movies of my life today. They both were 3D, and the 3D effect on them was dramatically better than any 3D movies I’ve previously seen.
The good one was at the air and space museum - a feature about the building of the space station. The highlight for me was a quote from a Russian astronaut who participated in building the station. He made note of the fact that, while looking down from space, there is no border between Mexico and the United States (or any other countries for that matter).
The other one was at the natural history museum, and was supposed to be about dinosaurs. The scenes that actually had dinosaurs in them were very well done, but the movie was actually done as a fictional story about this girl that worked in the museum whose father was an archaeologist. It happened to have the worst plot and acting of any movie I’ve ever seen, and it really took away from the film. There goes 30 minutes of my life that I wont get back.
