Finally polished up and packaged the Oasis theme for submission to the WP theme competition.
There are now over 60 themes posted on the competition site, with many more in the “pending” stage, no doubt (as mine currently is - there is a 24 hour delay policy). I went through tonight and looked at them all, primarily just to make sure that no one’s was too similar to mine, even though I created it entirely from scratch myself. I’m happy to say that not only did I not find any remotely similar themes, I also still (personally) prefer mine to any of the others entered so far. Of course, I’m biased, but I do think I at least stand a chance. Wish me luck!
Maybe now I can get back to posting more regularly…

I have to say, totally unbiased and all, that I agree. The others I looked at were no where near as aesthetically appealing and simple. I hope you win something! ($500 smackers would be fine!)
i think Dixie Belle, Pool, Red Train, Stylish Blue Modern are your biggest competitors. probably your biggest challenge will be the fact that your background is so dark. here are others i felt compelled to comment on:
Meadow - makes me laugh, but won’t win
Borderline Chaos - like it a lot, but it isn’t very universal…too much personality
c3ro - worst 3 column layout ever
Benevolence - makes my eyes hurt, but i don’t know why
Fading Flowers - i like the duotone, but the implimentation sucks.
Archway - don’t these people change their browser size to make sure nothing breaks when you aren’t 20000 pixels wide?
Spring Fairy - remember when i thought borderline chaos had too much personality?
Girls-Suck - yey exploding dog…boo everything else
