My entry in the theme competition is now updated on the site, to reflect the adjustments I mentioned previously.
There are 140 themes in total that made it in by the deadline (including Dan’s). I haven’t had a chance to look at the newest ones yet, but right now I think I stand a decent chance of winning something (there are quite a few different prizes).
The thing I’m hoping sets mine apart is the focus on the posts, most of the others seem to do the usual black text on solid white background thing, and you have to look a little closer to focus on one post in particular. I tried to design mine so that they kind of stand out (”in front of”) the background. Anyway, wish me luck!
