The winners of the WordPress blog theme competition have been announced, and I was not among them (although there are a couple of prizes that haven’t been awarded yet).
Oh, well; it was still fun. Judging from the “main” winners, I’m guessing the judges really like the common picture-at-the-top-of-the-same-old-basic-layout, with maybe changing some colors around every once in a while (but usually sticking with black text on white background). They also appear to have a “thing” with trains/tunnels which is kind of weird.
Man, that seemed kind of bitter; I didn’t mean in that way (or did I?). Anyway, all the themes are posted and will be available after the competition as well, so it will be interesting to see if I ever come across my own theme on someone else’s site at some point in the future. The downside is that since you can download them directly from the theme competition site, I won’t be able to look at the logs to have any idea of how many people are downloading it.
