nevermind i just checked and the showtimes for century are all funky…i’ll buy my edwards ticket right now…

Ya, as of earlier today Edwards was the only one on Fandango with the midnight shows.

Randy reminded me earlier today that they did this before too; Century said they weren’t doing midnight shows until about a week before opening day. I definitely would rather go to Century, but I also wouldn’t want to wait for them and then miss it.

Also, I don’t like popcorn, so that’s no big deal.

PS - my wife usually doesn’t go to the midnight Star Wars openings.

Dang it. Oh well, I’m still going to Edwards since I already got the tickets for there, and I don’t think Fandango does returns.

I looked into the Policies for Fandango because I would have gone if you went to Century and I found the funniest statement.

    No Refunds or Exchanges

In accordance with our Terms of Use, Fandango does not offer refunds or exchanges of tickets purchased on the Fandango Web site or via phone (for example, from 1-800-555-TELL, which is not available in Canada). In addition, tickets purchased through Fandango are subject to a non-refundable per-ticket service fee. Before purchasing your tickets we urge you to confirm the title, time and location of the movie you wish to see.

    Notice:

    tickets purchased…are subject to a non-refundable per-ticket service fee.

Meaning if you wanted to return them you would have to pay them to give you nothing. Or it can be interpreted as you paid them to not take them back.

I think their policy just means that they keep their fee (which is an extra dollar per ticket), and if you want to return the tickets themselves it’s up to you to make arrangements with the theater, but there’s no guarantee that the theater will allow it.

If this were to work, I would need to do things in the following order:
    1. Talk to Edwards and get them to agree to refund the tickets.

    2. Go online and get the Century tickets (if they’re still available)

    3. Go to Edwards and return the original tickets.

Putting step 2 in between 1 and 3 is very important, because I’m not going to take the chance of going to Edwards and giving the tickets back, then going online to find out that Century is sold out.

Seeing as how that’s a lot of work, and that I’m guessing Century may already be sold out (haven’t checked), and the fact that I don’t really care which theater I go to, I’m thinking I’ll just stick with what I’ve got, unless one of the other people I got tickets for wants to go through all that trouble.

    How many people are going?
    Who?

  14. Posted April 26, 2005 at 4:08 pm | Permalink

Whoever wants to come along - there will be a lot of people, I’m sure. The people I have tickets for right now are Randy & Kristi, Andy and Kenny. Also, it sounded like Nathan was buying an Edwards ticket from his previous comment, don’t know if he went through with it before the Century ones became available, though.

    Doh!

P.S. - Any chance Lisa falls asleep before midnight? (In case Lisa’s reading this, I’m NOT suggesting that Nathan sneak out)
