Christian asked me today “Dad, why do all the people in my class who don’t even live in Ventura always get to school before me, and we only live a couple minutes away but we are late all the time.”

What did you say?
You should have said, if you don’t like it ride your bike.
Well, it is usually my fault that we end up being late.
dad, when can i start pulling my own weight in the morning?
He’s only 8…he can’t drive himself or anything.
How early are the other kids dropped off?
Probably between 7:30 and 8, whereas we get there pretty darn close to 8 (sometimes a little after).
It kind of makes sense when you think about it; the farther away you are, the more time you have to allow for variable delays (traffic, more red lights, etc.), so you end up being earlier on average because you will make a lot of the green lights.
between this, the not-so-tinyurl, and the full crib photo my sarcasm last night was taken wholy literal.
Sorry Nathan…guess we are in a literal frame of mind. I’ll try to get back to my usual sarcastic self.
