In case you didn’t notice, I haven’t been online at all this weekend, since we were camping at Casitas. We went to the water park yesterday, and I got sunburned pretty bad.
Hopefully, you all got a good laugh out of the spam that slipped through the filters while I was away. The fact that that still happens (even though less than one percent makes it through) has often made me think about working on a spam prevention plugin again, but I probably won’t be doing it anytime soon.

Or you could just use one that already works.
I’m using the one you recommended; it doesn’t catch everything. If I do my own, I will probably modify that one.
There’s something wrong about that palm tree in the photo.
Your using the blacklist program?
Do you update the blacklist?
Or you could update the blacklist yourself.
Yes to both. I don’t like the way it gathers data from the existing moderated spam to add to the blacklist; there are a few things wrong with it logically. It does catch a lot of stuff (around 95%), but it’s definitely not perfect. I think just because I get a lot of spam, I’m kind of pushing its limits.
If I did anything on this, it would just be improving the ways that you can manage and update the blacklist.
what’s wrong with the palm tree?
The palm tree is like a visual non-sequitur in the presence of oak and forest.
Just one of the many reasons why Ventura is one of the greatest places on earth to live.
one of the?
so true.
Of course, between us, we know it’s the best, but I didn’t want to offend and/or provoke envy in the other readers out there.
JB & Martha, Katie enjoyed running into you at the water park.
Yep…looked like they were having fun…as we were. What a cutie Lexi is!
447 Comments in moderation. Your screwed.
Not really. By the way, those are just the ones that the blacklist didn’t catch. The only reason I’m leaving them moderated is because eventually I am going to improve the blacklist plugin’s code for automatically updating the blacklist based on the contents of comments which are in moderation (I know it does this now but not very well), and so I want a whole bunch in there to work with so I can test it.
