Phase 1 complete

Yesterday I finished putting in the flooring in the downstairs “game room”

Unfortunately, you can’t really see it in this picture (except for the very bottom), since Martha is now in the middle of phase 2: painting, so it’s mostly covered up.

I occasionally need to do stuff like this to remind myself why I really like the kind of work I do for a living. Maybe it’s psychological, but it seems like the soreness of being on your knees all day lasts a little longer the older you get…

i like to do stuff like that cuz it reminds me of what real work feels like. as opposed to sitting on my ass thinking and making friends (”networking” ha!) which apparently is worthy of making more money than breaking your back everyday(?)…

What all are you going to have in your game room? Foosball? Pool? Ice skating?

Wouldn’t that be cool. But, just stupid ole video games! Although, I do like a little Mario Tennis now and again. Just a warning bring your sunglasses when you come next. The paint job may give you cornea damage. Hopefully some dark furniture will bring down the UV rating a bit. I think I will steer clear of “faux” (sorry Randy) painting techniques unless I have someone helping who has done it before. I think plain solid colors are fine.

Maybe you could do a faux (sorry randy) finish on the walls, put an armoire (sorry randy) in the corner and place a credenza (sorry randy) along the wall for storage.

    Very “french” Ma ma J!
Can’t wait to see it all done. The new XBOX 360 comes out the end of November. Will it be ready by then?
I like a little Mario Tennis myself now and then and Mario Cart is fun too. I challenge you…

And voila (sorry randy) the game room is finis’ (sorry randy, ((please step out to the foyer’ (((sorry randy))))). I can do this because he’s out of town and out of reach of a computer. I was thinking today about all the words Randy doesn’t like. They all seem to be French. But you see, he doesn’t even realize that he is part French. Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha. (sorry randy)

All right…so I get Dan? Back to the room re-do…I fixed the paint job so it is much less offensive to the eyeballs. Now with my own method it looks much more like I wanted it to in the first place. From now on, I think I will just make up my own way to do home projects. It never seems to work out when I get the instructions from the internet. These were even from the DIY web site. Paint and learn. Home improvement is getting old, though.
