… my favorite day out of the year, it would probably be the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

Me too. Why would you choose it?
Your only saying that because you won 30 bucks!
$40
You even won with your fist on your cheek and the bouncy-bouncy?
I thought it was $40.
Actually, it ended up being $35; nine people played ($5 each), but John didn’t have to pay, so $40 total, but then second place got their money back.
And, BTW I guess those so-called tells on me didn’t help you much.
I think you were just mad because I kept analyzing what you were doing at the beginning…
You won because I wanted to leave.
The difference between you “calling” me out was you guessed. I knew, because you are obvious.
Just keep telling yourself that, maybe it will make you feel better.
I bounce my leg all the time; whether I’m playing poker or not, and the position of my hand was totally random. In addition, the (relatively few) times I was bluffing, no one ever called me enough for you to be able to tell when I had it and when I didn’t.
If you really had that good of a read on me, then you would have taken more pots from me. I remember bluffing you on several hands that you didn’t call me on, and I don’t think that you ever won a really big pot that I was involved in, so I don’t think there’s much to back up your theory.
The calls I was making on you were guesses, but they were based on stuff I was observing (and not stupid stuff like bouncing your leg or the position of your hand). I’m not saying I was always right (although I bet some of them were correct); I was mostly just doing it to put you on edge.
So anyway…why is it your favorite day?
Just getting together with everyone. Of course, playing poker was fun to, but I usually have fun playing whether I win or not.
Nathan, was that frown face above because you weren’t there? Sorry, I didn’t think to post about it on here beforehand, but you guys are hereby officially invited for the annual Saturday-after-thanksgiving get together, so mark it on your calendars now.
actually, if that’s the thing at randy and jacquie’s place, we got invited. we also completely forgot about it.
Yeah. That’s the “thing”. It’s the gathering we call the “The Saturday after Thanksgiving at Randy and Jacquie’s”. If you don’t mind, we would appreciate the use of proper terminology.
next year we will make all efforts to attend the saturday after thanksgiving at randy and jacquie’s…and probably fail.
Well, you should know you are missing out. There is laughter and tears and wine and poker and outburst and really hot fires so we have to open the doors and babies puking and video games and loud talking, but sadly, Santa’s train no longer visits. It is a day to remember.
Maybe we can start and East Ventura campaign to get the train to come back!? I heard that the city is charging the train $350 per road crossing to come into Ventura.
