Something really weird

I saw something really weird last night. It was around midnight and I just happened to be outside looking over the hills by our house (in the direction of the Skyline neighborhood / Arroyo Verde park, and for about a second there was a super strong dark green colored light that looked like it came from the ground level and lit up the whole bottom portion of the sky, kind of like a distant flash of lightning reflecting through the fog, except there was no fog, it was green, and it lasted longer (about a second).

Maybe it’s because you were outside at 12 that you were hulucinating.

All interesting theories; I’m going to go with one that will somehow grant me superpowers that I have yet to discover.

It really was weird though. I even drove over there to check it out and see if I could see anything that would explain it but I didn’t find anything.

It’s a kryptonite (sp?) mine. I think you should investigate more fully. Only you might stumble onto something dangerous, so be careful.

Or maybe it was somthing from one of the gas or oil wells, or something like that. Or some kids playing with their lazer beam flashlights.

And did you wake anyone up to corroberate your “story”?

Oddly enough, it was the kryptonite-ish shade of green; definitely not flashlights, though - it lit up the whole (pretty wide) section of sky behind & over the mountain all at once.

Actually, I was going to drive out to do something else anyway, so I just passed by to try and satisfy my curiosity.

I didn’t bother waking anyone up since it only lasted for about one full second (maybe even slightly less), and it didn’t happen again after that (although I stood there and watched for quite a while to see if it would).

it seems unlikely that you would be able to see anything in ventura that happened in LA, but i saw on the news that two different pilots were momentarily blinded by a green lazer yesterday…FBI is investigating…weird

Sparks or gas ionisation due to a piezoelectric effect in quartz-bearing rock.
