The only good part of this show is on right now: the tryouts. These are really entertaining for so many reasons; mostly they’re funny, but it’s also interesting to watch the judges try to discover new (and sometimes not too insulting) ways of telling people they suck.

I totally agree with you. I love watching this part. Did you see the girl with the awful tan, and the judges asked to see her mother- explained a lot!
i heard they sent a crazy guy to hollywood just to laugh at him. not sure how i feel about that. i mean, showing the people that showed up and did poorly is one thing (especially the ones that are so full of themselves), but leading a guy on like that just to laugh at him…that’s wrong.
He had to know he was crazy.
It seemed like he was half-doing it as a joke anyway, so they were just playing along.
okay, that’s not so bad if so.
Yeah, it’s kind of hard to tell. He was so over the top yelling and cheering for himself that he had to be kind of just doing it for show. You could tell that he was actually a little surprised that they let him through, like he never really expected them to anyway. On the other hand, he did sing an original song, so maybe he really is (at least halfway) serious about it, even if he’s not that good.
I forgot to tape it last night, so I didn’t see that one.
I kind of liked his song.
