Top Commenters Bump

I decided the other day (in the process of fixing this bug in my top commenters plugin) to remove my name from the top commenters list on my blog, since it doesn’t make to much sense to have it in there. After all, of course I will probably always have the most comments in here, but who cares?

So, congratulations to everyone else, who gets an automatic bump up on the top ten list!

Now I just have to go back and have it pull the most recent URLs for the commenters instead of the ones from older comments. I think I may actually just switch it to only post the URLs of registered users instead, though.

    Yes, I’m number one.

i’m interested in jared being on the list just so i can see how much he’s commenting. the numbers are more interesting than the positioning.

I think before I excluded my name I was around 1250. From past experience, I’ve usually had about twice the amount of the #2 spot.

I used to be above nathan. But not too bad considering I haven’t commented much in ‘06

Good idea, i think you should reset the results though every week or month to give others a chance, there’s no competition this way :)

And over a year later this resurfaces.

JB is this a spam hit?

If so, it’s a “legit” manual one. I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt.

Seems like you have a few of these.
I noticed the other one on wearing headphones.

I usually keep them if they seem to be a legit (non-machine generated) on-topic reply, like this one and the headphones one.

Then, if there’s a URL (which the driving one didn’t have), I’ll check it out and remove it (the URL, not the whole comment) if it looks like a “spammy” site.
