Well, this time you may want to do yourself a favor and read the book first, because I'm sure the movie version of this one will probably totally suck compared to the book, as opposed to V, which I liked the movie adaptation of (not as much as the original book, but it was still good).

PS - I was pretty sure 99% of the people I saw wouldn't recognize it, and I think it kind of added to the effect, because at this point when you see a recognizable scary costume, I think most people kind of filter it out already, whereas when people see one like this that they haven't seen before it makes them stop and look more.

Jacquie, if I were awarding prizes or points, I would give you some. What the heck, I'll give you 200 points for coming up with that one.

Dan - did you like V for Vendetta?

Cool. I think I should get a prize, cause I didn't know about the comic book guy, I just recognized the ink blot. Do I get points for that?

Yep, Kristi got it, although I'm sure Nathan would have once he saw it too.

Watchmen is a book released in the mid-80's by Alan Moore (the guy who wrote the original V for Vendetta book before it) that takes a "darker" approach to the super-hero comics genre. They're supposed to be making a movie out of this one too, but they've been saying that forever, so who knows if it will ever happen. If it eventually does, though, at least I will have been ahead of my time.

It was pretty fun though walking around in the costume, though. Some people were visibly surprised / scared when they first saw it, and more were just too creeped out to look at me in the face for too long, I think because they can't make eye contact or read facial expressions. It was pretty fun. If I ever become a professional poker player, I'm definitely going to make this my trademark (instead of sunglasses, etc.)

These pictures don't show this, but I think I refined it a bit after that first close-up one was taken, by adding a few more safety pins to get rid of the slack of the mask around the neck, so it fit my head a little better.
